These foods are known to have varying amounts of nutrients which are healthy and beneficial for the body. It also means that incorporating these food groups in your system means you have to eat them on a regular, consistent basis. This will help you manage and control your weight, and at the same time, prevent your blood sugar to rise at an abnormal rate. Keeping your blood sugar levels under control is easy so long as you choose healthy foods, exercise regularly and take the medications that your doctor prescribed for diabetes. A healthy diet is just as beneficial to a diabetes patient to everyone else, so everyone in your home can make the same healthy food choices.

Moreover, diabetes patients should eat plenty of foods rich in starch such as bread, cereal and some vegetables. At least five fruits and vegetables must also be included in your meal plan. Reduce your daily consumption of sugars and sweets or have moderate amounts of it only. Other diabetes healthy foods include legumes, some seeds, carrots, bran, whole grains and nuts.
